Silkscreen print with minium ink (red lead) and pine bark ink on cotton paper dyed with oak bark
90 x 63 cm
2022
In this series, two modes of fragmented representation are superimposed: on the one hand, there are the abstract forms of the vernacular cavings in the house façades of the Ribeira Sacra and, on the other, drawings taken from the artist’s sketchbook based on the Galician landscape and its nature. These silkscreen prints use handmade acrylic inks with minium —red lead oxide— and pine bark printed on cotton paper dyed with the bark of native trees, as was done with the old fishing nets in Galicia, when they were still nets in Galicia, when they were still made with natural fibers. This is an edition of 6 variations with 2 copies each.
