Among the three main types of architectural gaps in the wall —the window, the door and the niche— the latter is the only one that does not cut across it, remaining like a hiatus in the wall. In this way it acquires the ability to evoke the spiritual by himself. This work analyzes the primitive niches of the religious architecture of the Ribeira Sacra, Galicia.
